App: Cerberus App Developer: LSDroid Price: $3.91
I remember way back in the summer of ’03 when I lost my cellphone in Las Vegas. Back then, all I could do to try to find my misplaced device was check the casino lost and found. Usually in these situations all one could do is get a police report for a stolen phone, submit it to the insurance claims per your provider (if you have insurance), and wait for the mail. Phone security has come a long way since then. Considering the amazing capabilities of modern devices, it should be a no-brainer that security would be just as amazing. Enter Cerberus.
Cerberus is a security service for mobile devices. After installing the app and setting up an account, you get an idea of just how powerful this service is. To get a better understanding of the app’s capabilities, go to https://www.cerberusapp.com/ once installed. You will see a dashboard with a map showing GPS location. On the dashboard is a drop-down menu showing the multiple devices covered (Did I mention Cerberus lets you cover 5 devices per membership?) and another showing the actions you can send to your device. These include tracking, collecting call and sms logs, memory (int and ext) wipe, start alarm, lock/unlock, record audio, take picture, and even removing evidence of app from app drawer.
Bottom line: If this app is not on your Android device, it should be. These devices are expensive to replace, not to mention the fact that all of your veryprivate moments and information are stored on them. Security, whether it be online or physical, is a high priority. I highly recommend this app, it does everything as advertised, and is well worth the small price. Please salute our newest General of the Army!
